Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) are systems that can generate water in liquid form starting from atmospheric vapor.

 

Two main technologies are used by this family of devices.

The chiller-based AWGs use mechanical compression of vapor to cool down a surface, until the humidity condenses, like an air conditioner.

The sorption AWGs use adsorbent and hydrophilic materials that capture atmospheric water and release it when heated up, just like a sponge.
